By circumventing traditional sourcing channels, by making and designing all of our chocolate products in-house, and by engaging with customers directly, we’re able to provide a higher-quality, better-tasting, ethically-sourced chocolate.

Mayhawk is acutely aware of its responsibilities and the opportunities to drive positive change in order to make a product we can be proud of.

We believe, as a small independent chocolate maker, our core company values should always come from looking at the environmental and human impact we make as a business. Accordingly, we aim to reach our full growth potential in the most imaginative, responsible and sustainable manner possible – with our business success coming through the maintenance of high standards and ethics.

We purchase the raw materials and natural ingredients we use from our supply partners, where the human rights of workers and a care for the environment are observed. We use simple, recyclable, packaging materials with a minimum of waste. Our own employees are paid a fair living wage, with pay equity, and without discrimination, in return for fair working hours, and the highest standards in workplace safety and training.

Our chocolate has a focus on clarity of flavour and its health benefits, as such we use only natural ingredients. The care and attention that we pay to the fine details means our standards are extremely high, and we do not settle for anything less than excellence.


When a company creates a single product line with green credentials they have failed to understand the basic fundamentals of sustainability. We want to disrupt that thinking. We believe a sustainable methodology must encompass all products, and be ‘designed’ in at every stage of production.

We have worked for many years to understand, track and reduce our environmental impact. We are constantly trying to find new ways to conserve natural resources and use less energy, this is a crucial part of our manufacturing process.

At Mayhawk we’re committed to being a socially conscious and responsible business. So, we take our values very seriously, and we want to make sure that all of our products reflect those values. We have a responsibility to create a stunning and healthy product, protect the rights of all the people in our supply chain, and to do everything we can to preserve our planet’s fragile environment.

High Standards

We hold ourselves and our suppliers to the highest standard in such key issues as having a respect for human rights and an understanding of the major role the environment and biodiversity plays in our industry.


Our suppliers are required to provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, act fairly and ethically, and use environmentally responsible practices wherever they grow or make raw-materials, products or perform services for Mayhawk.

Supplier Code of Conduct

At Mayhawk we try to make thoughtful and inclusive decisions as we seek out new supply partners. In order to promote the fair treatment and payment of workers, encourage safe working conditions, and environmental sustainability, we continue to monitor and uphold our standards for responsible sourcing through our Mayhawk Supplier Code of Conduct. This is a code of conduct where our expectations need to be met from our supply partners.  

Labour & Human rights

All our suppliers must ensure that all work is voluntary and that no underage workers are used. We do not source our raw-materials, such as cacao-beans, from regions or suppliers where slave labour, bonded labour or child labour is a potential factor in the production of the raw-materials that we require. This would be a core violation of the Mayhawk Supplier Code of Conduct and we would cease to source from them.
